Hi! I’m Ioana (pronounced Yo-ana) and I am a Wedding and Elopement Photographer here in Aotearoa!
I am a Swedish gal with the absolute privilege to call Auckland, New Zealand my home. This is where I met my husband Josh, and experienced true adventure for the first time. New Zealand is where I’m building my future.
I’m an adventurer. I take life as it comes and fully trust the process. That’s why I became a photographer! It allows me to be creative, meet the best people ever and see more of this beautiful earth that we have been gifted!
I have been photographing seriously for about four years now. I started my business in January 2021, and since then I’ve documented more than 60 different elopements & weddings. The journey has been soooo good so far!
Sélea is my surname. I chose it because it’s unique, and I think it sounds beautiful! Sélea also have links to the Hebrew word Selah. This word occurs in the Psalms in the bible multiple times, and is most often translated into Forever. Quite beautiful, isn’t it?

My name is Joel and I have the absolute pleasure of being a videographer for Sélea Photography. I am a true believer of capturing the moments around us. I love capturing precious moments on camera - the laughing, the fun, and even the tears - wrapping them up all in a unique and special story.
Before being a videographer, I am first and foremost a husband and a dad.
My wife and son are a big source of my joy and why I started capturing memories in the first place. They are the muse to my creativity and I always find my heart fill as I look back on those small moments filled with joy and emotion. Because of them, documenting moments has become a big part of my life. The fact that I can call all this my work, is a blessing.
Ioana and I have done a lot of weddings together and we have even more coming up for 2024 & 2025. We both love working together as our core beliefs align and our style and approach are very similar! We understand each other which makes us a great team! Don’t hesitate to reach out to learn more!

Would you travel for my elopement or wedding?
Absolutely! I have I’ve shot weddings in 5 different countries, as well as on New Zealand’s South Island. I’d be more than happy to do so for you! For some packages travel and two nights accomodation is included. send me a request and I’ll tell you more!
How would you describe your style?
To me it is important that my photos stand the test of time. I am a big fan of true colours, and I want my photos to feel alive, warm, and of course romantic! I am fond of my lanterns at dusk, and dramatic backdrops.
How long does it take to receive my wedding photos?
If you’re getting married during the low season, you can expect your photos within 2-3 weeks. If you’re celebrating in the middle of summer you can expect it to take 3-6 weeks. I always send you 25-35 previews the day after for you to enjoy while you wait!
Do you offer second shooters?
Yes! I love working with second shooters. A second photographer captures a range of angles and moments that I am not able to while I focus mainly on the two of you. They can ensure that all of the little details and moments are documented fully. All of the images are then edited by me so that my style is consistent throughout your gallery.
What should I consider when putting together the timeline for my wedding day?
When we confirm the booking for your wedding date I will send you more detailed information about things to consider when creating your timeline. I’m always happy to help with this to make your life easier, so don’t hesitate to send me an email!
How do you deliver your photos?
I deliver my photos in an easy-to-navigate and elegant online gallery. You will also get access to high res images suitable for printing. I also offer albums if you want to preserve your photos physically!
Can you help us plan our elopement/wedding day for an optimal schedule?
Sure I can! I specialise in elopement packages that tailors full adventure elopement experiences! Help me plan your whole day so you can focus on other important things!
What do you like more - elopements or weddings?
Honestly, nothing beats an adventure elopement! The freedom, the scenery, the romance is just something out of a fairytale. But with that to say - wedding days can be just as epic! Make sure you make it into your own. There are no limitations!
